Everything on Meru Options is educational material, not advice and not an offer to trade.

Educational material only

This site is educational material only. It is not advice, not a recommendation and not an offer to buy or sell any instrument, and it is not tailored to your circumstances. Decisions about trading gold (XAU/USD) are yours, and so are the consequences.

CFDs on gold carry a high risk of loss and most retail accounts lose money. Leverage is a cap that applies to the entity serving Kenya, not a setting to aim at, and a position can lose more than the margin set aside for it.

Meru Options is an information service, not a licensed investment adviser

Meru Options publishes educational content about trading gold (XAU/USD) and does not provide personalised investment advice, portfolio management or trade recommendations. Nothing on this site tells you what to buy, sell or hold. Every example, including the margin figure of about $85.50 for a 0.10-lot gold position at the applicable leverage cap, is illustrative only and depends on your own account size, broker terms and risk tolerance. You remain responsible for every order you place.

The site explains how instruments, costs, margin and platforms work; it does not execute trades, hold client money or act as a counterparty. Any decision to open an account with FxPro or fund it via M-Pesa is yours alone, made after reading the broker's own legal documents. Meru Options is not registered by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) to give investment advice in Kenya, and nothing here should be read as a substitute for a licensed adviser who knows your full financial position.

Information is general and may not suit your circumstances, objectives or experience. A worked margin figure for gold does not tell you whether gold suits you, and a platform walkthrough does not tell you whether a trade is wise. If you need advice on whether trading gold is appropriate for you, consult a professional licensed by the CMA. Meru Options cannot assess your income, debts, dependants or tolerance for loss, so it cannot and does not tailor anything to you.

Affiliate links and your relationship

Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means the broker may pay the desk a referral fee if you open an account through them. That fee does not change what you pay the broker and does not buy a rating.

Your relationship is with the broker, not with Meru Options. The account, the contract, the money and any complaint sit between you and that firm, under its terms and its regulator. FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA — not by the CMA of Kenya.

How Meru Options earns money from links to FxPro and what that means for you

Meru Options earns a commission from FxPro when a reader clicks a link on this site, opens an account and trades. The payment comes from FxPro, not from you, and it does not change the price you pay for a trade. The commission is typically a share of the spread or commission FxPro charges on your activity, so the amount Meru Options receives depends on how much you trade, not on whether you win or lose.

The affiliate relationship means Meru Options has a financial interest in you choosing FxPro, and that interest could influence which broker is featured. The site aims to be transparent about this: FxPro is the broker covered here because of the affiliate arrangement, not because it has been ranked against every other firm serving Kenya. You should compare FxPro with other brokers yourself, including their costs, regulation and platform fit, before deciding.

No part of the commission is passed to you as a rebate, and Meru Options does not receive payment for a positive review or for a particular trading outcome. The affiliate link does not give you a discount, a bonus or special terms; any promotion is set by FxPro under its own rules. If you prefer not to generate a commission, you can reach FxPro directly without using the links on this site. Your choice of broker should rest on your own research, not on this site's commercial interest.

The law governing these terms is the law of Kenya

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and any dispute about them is subject to the jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts. That applies even though FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA and not by the CMA of Kenya. The regulator caveat matters for who supervises the broker, but it does not change the law that applies to your use of this information site. Reading the site from another country does not give you rights under that country's law against Meru Options.

The site operates under Kenyan law because its audience is in Kenya and payments, if any, are handled in Kenyan shillings. References to M-Pesa and to KSh amounts reflect that local context. If a dispute arises, you agree to raise it first by contacting Meru Options so the parties can attempt to resolve it without litigation. Only if that fails does the matter proceed to the Kenyan courts, which will apply Kenyan law to the contract formed by your use of the site.

Changes to these terms are published on this page with a new effective date

Meru Options publishes changes to these terms by replacing this page and showing a new effective date at the top. There is no email notification and no account login, so the page itself is the only official record. You should check it before relying on any statement about liability, affiliate relationships or governing law. Continued use of the site after a new effective date means you accept the updated terms; if you do not accept them, you should stop using the site.

Changes may be needed when FxPro alters its leverage cap, when the regulator caveat changes, or when the affiliate arrangement is revised. Meru Options does not promise advance notice of every change, and minor corrections may appear without a separate announcement. The effective date is the date shown on this page, not the date you first read the terms, so a version you saved earlier may no longer apply. Always refer to the current version before acting on anything here.

Figures are dated and must be verified

Every figure on this site is dated to the day it was read from the broker's documents, and it must be verified with the broker before you act on it. A worked example, such as the roughly $85.50 margin needed for a 0.10-lot gold position at the applicable cap, is arithmetic on the contract size, not a quote for your account.

Contract specifications, funding routes and platform lists change. If a number on this site differs from the broker's own page, the broker's page is the one that governs your account.

What Meru Options is and is not responsible for when you trade

Meru Options is not liable for any trading loss, missed opportunity or platform failure you experience after using this site. Gold trading with leverage can lose money quickly, and the margin figure of about $85.50 for a 0.10-lot position at the applicable cap shows how a small price move can wipe out a large share of the margin posted. You accept that risk when you place an order, and Meru Options cannot recover losses, reverse trades or compensate you.

The site is not responsible for the accuracy of figures after the date they were published, for changes to FxPro's terms or for outages on MT4, MT5, cTrader or the FxPro app. Prices, leverage caps and funding arrangements can change without notice, and a figure that was correct when written may be wrong when you read it. You must verify every number with FxPro before relying on it. Meru Options does not control the broker's execution, withdrawals or M-Pesa processing times.

Meru Options does not guarantee that the site will be available, error-free or free of viruses, and it is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Kenyan law, but to the extent the law allows, the site's total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid to access the site, which is zero because the content is free.

FAQ

Common questions

What exactly is Meru Options?

Meru Options is an independent editorial desk publishing reference material on gold (XAU/USD) for readers in Kenya. It is not a broker, not an adviser and not licensed by the CMA of Kenya. Nothing on the site is a personal recommendation, an offer to trade, or a promise of any outcome.

How risky is trading gold with leverage?

Gold trading with leverage is high-risk and can lose more than your deposit. Leverage is a cap, not a target: at the cap applying to the FxPro entity serving this country, a 0.10-lot gold position needs about $85.50 margin, and a small adverse move can consume a large share of that. Trade only with money you can afford to lose.

Is the reference price of about 4275.0 a live quote?

No. It is a reference figure used to make examples and calculator inputs concrete. Live prices move constantly and differ between brokers and platforms. Always take the current quote from your own platform before sizing a position, and treat our worked figures as illustrations rather than executable prices.

Who is responsible if I lose money following something on this site?

You are. The material is general information, not advice, and any trade you place is your decision and your risk. Meru Options accepts no liability for trading losses. If you need personal guidance, speak to a licensed professional; the desk cannot act as one and does not manage money.

Which regulator covers the broker, and does that protect me?

FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA — not by the CMA of Kenya. That sentence matters because the protections attached to a licence depend on the entity you actually contract with. Check which entity serves Kenyan clients and read its terms before funding through M-Pesa or any other route.
